The 7th day in Japan was spent traveling and settling into Hokkaido!
Our journey began the Chitose Airport to Hotel Nidom with Follow Me Japan (FMJ) Tour!
Hotel Nidom was absolutely stunning and cottage-like. Perfect for a getaway from the bustling cities.
After the night's rest and a hearty breakfast, we set off on our drive tour!
'What's a drive tour?', you may ask.
Basically what FMJ provides are self-drive tours that are completely flexible in terms of your traveling routes from one hotel to the next!
So we had the freedom to choose where we wanted to go and where we didn't want to go, as compared to a bus tour. And what I dislike about bus tours are that they are so rush & people always have to wait for a group or another to get to the meeting points. I hate waiting. So this tour was perfect.
With a rented car, a GPS & a book of map codes for the journey, we were set to go!
Our first stop was to a go-kart track!
Well, Chloe loves go-karting and my whole family's totally up for go-karting, anywhere, anytime.
We set off to an ice-cream palour next!
They had super a lot of unusual flavours and as we all know, Hokkaido has some of the best dairy products.
I'm always a chocolate person. Always.
Our ride was a Toyota Isis!
Spacious enough and very comfortable for road trips.
My macaroon mickey head pillow! Hehehe. I'm actually hugging it now as I'm tying this post.
The other best part of having a drive tour is that we could stop anywhere we deem photo-worthy to take pictures!
Soba stop! Hot soba.
Still not the biggest fan of soba noodles but the soup was really good.
Dandelion!
Location: Farm Tomita, Furano.
Since we were on the Floral Fairytale tour, we visited tons of flower farms!
Farm Tomita was the first of the many.
Encountered a little bit of sakura left there!
All things lavender.
Everytime I saw an Alpaca I keep wanting to buy one.
But I came home without one and I'm totally regretting it.
I want an Alpaca on my bed. Hahahahaha!
They look so happy and squishy.
Hokkaido-only flavour!
Location: Blue Pond, Furano.
Took my first drive in Japan!
The roads are so easy to drive on and the drivers are very considerate and gracious.. Unlike here in Singapore.
Stopped at Autobacs somewhere in Asahikawa!
All things car and perfect for Daddy to shop and look at vehicle-related stuff.
Location: Asahikawa Ramen Village, Asahikawa.
Dinner place.
There're about a dozen ramen stores here and it was so difficult to decide on which one to go to.
With the recommendation from our tour leaders, we settles for this stall and they weren't wrong.
The did serve some of the best ramen.
The hotel was our final stop, where we checked-in with our tour leaders to rest up for the next day for more flower farm visits and drives in the most scenic place I've been!
